Come join us for a free half day workshop on living successfully with blindness throughout life. You will be able to interact with four different panels of persons with various degrees of vision loss and life experiences of living with a visual impairment.
1:00-1:45 Panel 1: Pre-school years
2:00-2:45 Panel 2: School years
3:00-3:45 Panel 3: Working years
4:00-4:45 Panel 4: Retirement years
Represented on the panels will be individuals who were born blind or lost vision later in life, parents of children who are blind and professionals in education or rehabilitation. Each panel will discuss experiences relating to the emotional and social adjustment to blindness, the need for blindness skills and the value of peer/professional support. We believe this unique snapshot of blindness throughout life is an important piece to achieving a life long positive understanding.
