Bus Transportation Information
The National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska has again arranged for a bus to this year’s State Convention in Columbus, Nebraska. The bus will depart Omaha on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 5:00 pm. The first pick-up point will be in Omaha, at the college of St. Mary, and the second one will be in Lincoln, at approximately 6:00 pm, at the Commission for the Blind offices. Depending on requests, there may be a third stop in York, which will be at approximately 7:15 pm, at the Super 8 Motel. The bus will arrive in Columbus at approximately8:20 pm. The trip, including the passenger pick up points in Lincoln and possibly York, should be approximately three and a half hours. Following the convention, the bus will depart at approximately 1:00 pm, following the conclusion of the Sunday morning business meeting on October 13, 2019. The bus should arrive in Omaha by late afternoon.
This year, the bus trip to Columbus is free to everyone registering for convention. This is not a mistake, all you have to do is register on-line, and the cost of your seat on the bus is fully covered by the National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska. Also, individuals living outside of the planned bus route, such as the western part of the state are encouraged to contact President Amy Buresh to request assistance with the cost of transportation to convention.
The bus is being arranged by your state affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska, and these excellent arrangements for travel are made possible through Fontenelle Tours and Arrow Stage Motor Coach Lines.
Reservations can be made when registering for the convention online at: http://ne.nfb.org/2019
