Rosemary Lerdahl Memorial Award
The Rosemary Lerdahl Memorial Award is presented from time to time to someone working in the blindness field who, in the spirit of the Federation, has helped to change what it means to be blind in positive ways. Rosemary Lerdahl worked in the blindness field first as an Orientation Counselor and then as Supervisor of the Lincoln District Office in Lincoln, NE. She then moved to Baltimore, MD, where she worked at the National Center for the Blind and later became Director of Blind Industries and Services of Maryland, a position she held until her untimely death in 2007.
